Will work approximately 20 to 30 hours per week. Wage based on experience.Provides personal care to tenants in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort consistent with Silveridge policy.Promotes and supports the greatest possible degree of independence for the tenants.Provides professional nursing care to tenants in support of their medical care as directed by the medical staff and pursuant to objectives and policies of Silveridge.Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well being of the tenants.According to RN delegation and service plans may administer prescribed medications, orally and injections; provide treatments using therapeutic equipment. Observes residents' reactions to medication and treatments, changes, or assists changing dressings and cleaning wounds or incisions. Takes vitals to detect deviations from normal and gauge progress of tenants following doctor's orders and approved service plan. Observes, records, and reports to supervisor and/or physician on tenant's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.Maintains tenant medical records on nursing observations and actions taken; such as medications and treatments given, reaction tests, temperature; pulse; respiration; and blood pressure readings. Records nursing needs of tenant on jot sheet to assure continuity of care.Observes emotional stability of tenants and expresses interest in their progress.Explains procedures and treatment ordered for tenant to gain cooperation and ease apprehension.Complies with the requirements of procedures to safely transfer tenants as per established policies and procedures.Promotes a safe/clean environment.Attends in-service training programs as per Silveridge policy.Serves as the person in charge in the absence of the Assisted Living Manager/Administrator.Functions within the scope of established policy and procedures.Maintains a current and valid Iowa Nursing License.Reports to the Assisted Living Manager.Professional contacts are with facility management, staff, tenants, and tenant families. Performs duties that require ability to adapt to major changes in routine on short notice and work with interruptions.Shall have orientation on sanitation and safe food handling prior to handling food with annual in-service training on food protection.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Must have a current license to practice as a Licensed Practical or Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa. Understands nursing theory and practice including RN delegation.Functional literacy in English required - both written and spoken.Good verbal ability and interpersonal skills are necessary to present information & ideas essential to supervisory duties and maintain good working relationships with staff and medical personnel.Clerical ability is necessary to prepare and keep current records and charts.Ability to plan, supervise, and coordinate activities. Ability to interpret policies and procedures. Ability to make good nursing decisions and assessments.Supervisory experience and/or experience as a professional in a long term care setting
